This 3 part lesson plan engages students in the exploration of factors that affect our envrionment, environmental stewardship, and culminates with a an exploration of environmental threats, their impact, and ways that we can reduce the impact of these issues. Students are asked to reflect on which issues could they have the most impact on solving. Part 1: Environmental Threats – What are they? Who do they impact?: The focus of this learning day is to introduce students to factors that affect our environment and have them explore these factors using a thinking classroom approach. Students explore different factors and the environmental/community impact of these factors. Part 2: Environmental Threats – Now What?: The focus of this learning day is to provide a structured group activity and lesson to step students towards discovering and learning about stewardship Part 3: Environmental Threats – Final Assessment: The focus of this final assessment is for students to work with a partner to explore environmental threats on ecosystems and communicate their findings through a presentation.
