In this lesson and mini lab, students will learning how echolocation is used by animals like bats and dolphins, the purpose of echolocation, the principles behind echolocation in a variety of technology like ultrasound devices, SONAR (depth finders), or in devices for the visually impaired. Through investigation, they will will also learn to calculate the time it takes for a wave to return to a source and solve problems related to echolocation.
