STAO Summer Writing Opportunities

1. Inquiry Resource Writing Project 2018

STAO/APSO will select a team of writers who will work under the direction of a Project Manager. Each writer will develop an innovative inquiry-based curriculum-linked teaching and learning classroom activity.  Although resources for all grade levels are needed, supports for Grades 1-8 Science and Technology, Grades 9-10 Applied Science or Grades 11-12 College/Workplace level sciences are a priority.

Writing will occur during the months of May to August 2018. An honorarium of $1000 will be paid to each writer.

The application found here is to be used by those who wish to be considered for a writing position with this resource project.

Please note that participants must:

  • be members of STAO/APSO
  • have relevant classroom experience
  • have effective writing skills

APPLICATION DEADLINE: Monday May 7, 2018

2. Technology in the Science Classroom K – 12

STAO/APSO will select a team of writers who will work under the direction
of a Project Manager to develop resources for K-12 teachers, specifically
with technology in mind.

The writing team will create resources that showcase the integration of
technology in science and science and technology curriculum-linked
activities. The team will create web-based instructional resource supports
with visual components such as video clip segments to support the
integration of technology in the science classroom.

Writing will occur during the months of May to August 2018. A stipend of
$1000 will be paid to each writer.

Please complete the Google form found here to be considered for a writing position with this resource project.

Please note that participants must:

  • be members of STAO/APSO
  • have teaching experience (K-12) relevant to the resource developed
  • have experience teaching with technology
