Co-Chairs: Laura Wodlinger, Jessica Jarvis
Advisors: Julie Vander Meij, Chuck Cohen
STAO’s annual conference enables members and non-members to share teaching ideas, resources and other expertise that they have found to be successful. STAO conferences reinforce the association’s mission of “encouraging excellence in science education through leadership and service”.
Teachers benefit as they share their expertise and acquire skills and knowledge that they can use in their classrooms. Students benefit as exemplary science is implemented in their classrooms. Related businesses and service providers benefit as they are able to promote their products to classroom teachers. STAO benefits as it uses the financial resources generated by conferences to further the work of the association. Also, the profile of STAO is raised by a successful conference, giving the association both tangible and intangible benefits.
