Delta Air Lines has introduced a “Parallel Reality” departure board at Detroit Metropolitan Airport, developed by Misapplied Sciences. This high-tech screen uses non-biometric object detection and multi-view pixels to display personalized flight information to multiple travelers simultaneously. Travelers opt in by scanning their boarding pass or digital identity, creating a private viewing zone that follows them as they move. The technology allows up to 100 customers to see different information on the same screen. Misapplied Sciences, founded by former Microsoft and Walt Disney Imagineering veterans, has created pixels that can emit different colors in multiple directions, enabling this innovative display.
