Professor Christina Guzzo, now at the University of Toronto Scarborough, emphasizes the importance of mentorship, especially for young women in science. After completing her PhD, she worked with Anthony Fauci’s renowned HIV research team. Guzzo’s own experiences, including the challenges of balancing a demanding career with family responsibilities, have shaped her approach to mentoring. She encourages her students, particularly women, to believe in themselves and pursue their goals. Guzzo’s research focuses on HIV infection, and she continues to inspire and support the next generation of scientists through her teaching and mentorship.
