Food Literacy Project – Review Project Advisor

Sustain Ontario has been funded by the Ministry of Education to develop professional development (PD) supports for teachers to help them conceptualize and teach the new food literacy expectations in the Grade 1-9 Science and Technology curriculum. The PD materials will be housed on a bilingual website we create and will include teaching videos and accompanying educator resources such as teaching & learning lessons/activities, resources & materials, learning goals, success criteria, and assessment opportunities. These PD materials will be chosen and developed to promote equity, diversity, and inclusion to support all learners.
Sustain is recruiting Review Project Advisors to review educator resources in the fall of 2022. Review project advisors will look at the package of resources compiled for the food literacy expectations and advise on which to feature on our website, give input on modifications required (content, language, cultural diversity, etc.), and provide feedback on the plan for video development that we will be undertaking to fill gaps. There will also be an opportunity for those interested to review our forthcoming draft website for ease of use and language. In doing so, the review project advisors will help to ensure the educator resources we feature on our website are  comprehensive, robust, and align with the needs of teachers.
Review will begin in late August or early September, and will take between 2 – 6 hours to complete depending on the number of distinct food literacy expectations advisors are able to review.
Please contact Sarah Keyes at sarah@sustainontario.ca with any questions or to discuss interest in this position.
We look forward to hearing from you!
