To all of our STAO2020 attendees,
It is with deep regret that the Science Teachers’ Association of Ontario (STAO) must announce the cancellation of STAO2020: Looking to the Future that was to take place on March 26 & 27, 2020 at the Delta Hotels Toronto Airport & Conference Centre in Toronto.
STAO has always taken pride in offering a high quality conference that meets the needs of our delegates, presenters, and exhibitors. Unfortunately, the ongoing labour disruptions in Ontario and the rising concern over the Coronavirus (COVID-19) have created insurmountable challenges for STAO2020 that jeopardize the high quality conference that our members have come to expect. We recognize that this
is a disappointing turn of events, but invite you to continue to monitor STAONews and take advantage of other upcoming professional learning opportunities as they arise.
We will be issuing full refunds to all those who have registered for the conference and to our exhibitors. Refunds will be issued via the original payment method before the end of March and you will receive confirmation of your refund either by email or mail, depending on the original payment method. We would also like to remind you to cancel any travel arrangements that have been made, including any reservations made at the hotel. We apologize for any inconvenience that this decision may cause.
Finally, STAO would like to thank everyone who has committed their time and energy towards the planning of STAO2020. The conference depends on the contributions of many STAO Volunteers and we would not be able to accomplish our goals without them. STAO remains committed to supporting Ontario’s science teachers and has already begun planning new professional learning opportunities for the remainder of the year. We look forward to sharing information about these upcoming opportunities with you in the near future and look forward to your continued support of STAO.
