The “Out of Order” sculpture in Kingston, featuring twelve red telephone boxes tumbling over each other, has been a local landmark since its installation in 1989. Created by renowned artist David Mach, this iconic piece reflects the quintessential British symbol of the red telephone box. Despite being lesser-known compared to London attractions like the London Eye, “Out of Order” holds significant cultural value and received a refurbishment in 2019 to celebrate its 30th anniversary. The sculpture is cherished by the community, who marked the milestone with a street party.
