Using VR in the Physics and Biology classroom
In this interactive workshop, attendees will learn how to create and code a 3D virtual world using the online software CoSpaces, in the context of the Physics and Biology classes. A computer simulation will bring their 3D vir-tual world to life! First, participants will experiment with objects and forces, friction and collision to discover physics concepts. Then they will cre-ate an ecosystem and code how the different animals and element interact with each other. Chromebooks or laptops are required for this workshop.
Joseph is the Senior Outreach instructor with the MakerMobile as part of the uOttawa Engineering Outreach Program. Having studied Mechanical Engineering, he is passionate about sharing his knowledge with the next generation to spark their interest in science and engineering and encourage them to learn how the various technologies around them work.
Andrew is the Technology Educator as part of the MakerMobile and is a trained physics, chemistry, mathematics OCT teacher. As an educator, he has a passion for learning and he enjoys fostering a maker mindset for teachers and students alike. As a technology educator, he is looking to help others to explore various technologies and integrate them into the classroom.
