Introduction to the Engineering Design Process

No matter your engineering discipline, all engineers use the Engineering Design Process (Design, Build, Test and Fix) to solve real-life problems. During this session we will introduce educators to the Engineering Design Process (EDP) – we’ll give you the 5ws (and how) of EDP so your students are ready to tackle real life problems in the classroom

Presenter:

Desurée DeGagné is an Outreach Coordinator with Connections Engineering Outreach (CEO). She holds a Bachelors of Education from the University of Ottawa, and is currently completing her Masters of Education at Queen’s University. Since joining CEO in 2017, Desurée has become the program lead for the Tech ‘n’ Tinker Trailer; CEO’s mobile outreach initiative. In addition to the Tech ‘n’ Tinker Trailer portfolio, Desurée also manages the CEO’s teacher professional development portfolio; she is interested in supporting teachers as they integrate engineering design and educational technology into their practice.
