Greetings Science Educators,

STAO President 2017 - 2018 Anjuli AhoojaThank you for the outstanding work that you do in your classes daily to prepare the future scientists of the world! It is indeed my privilege and honour to work with stellar volunteers of STAO and serve the science teachers’ community this year as the President of the association.

When I attended the STAO conference for the first time in 2004, I was truly impressed! Since then, I have continued to attend and/or present at the conference almost every year. It is one of the best opportunities to learn from the best, build relationships, and share best practices. Continuing to be associated with STAO as a member, and now as a member of the Executive, is certainly one of my best professional decisions.

Lifelong learning comes from exploring new perspectives and it is key to being a successful teacher. STAO has developed numerous 21st century resources, which you will find in Resources and on STAOConnex. Every year, the conference schedule is packed with workshops where speakers present their ideas to give you tremendous learning experience. The exhibits from companies and publishers display and demonstrate new equipment and tools to make your classes more exciting for your students. At the conference, the workshops are innovative and enriching, and the speakers are impressive and inspiring. In addition, one can meet and network with like-minded peers from all over Ontario.

You are also invited and encouraged to share your ideas, resources, and best practices with us.
