Seneca College first postsecondary institution in Ontario to offer Executive Certificate in Science Communication

A new program at Seneca will equip scientists and science professionals in leadership roles with the communications skills that will help them thrive in their careers and excel in senior management positions.

The Science Communication executive certificate program – the first of its kind in Ontario – is launching through Seneca’s Centre for Executive and Professional Learning.

Participants in this 18-week program will be taught by expert faculty who are among Canada’s top science communicators. This credential is a great option for anyone with a background in research science, regulatory affairs or other science-based fields who wants to become a better writer, digital communicator or storyteller.

“Seneca is excited to offer this program in Toronto, a global hub for scientific research, innovation and communication,” said Kiley Bolton, Director, Centre for Executive and Professional Learning. “Toronto is home to the largest life sciences sector in North America, and employers are telling us they need more leaders who can articulate complex concepts in straightforward language.”

Applications are now open for the program, which begins Sept. 20 and takes place on primarily on Tuesday evenings. Courses are offered through flexible delivery, giving participants the choice to attend virtually or in person at Seneca Downtown.

More information about the Science Communication executive certificate program is available on Seneca’s website.
