Teachers & Engineers Together (EIR program 2022-2023)

Registration is NOW OPEN for the 2022/2023 school year!

Bring the STEM curriculum to life for your students. By connecting local engineers with K-12 classrooms, we hope to bridge the gap that can exist between the real world and classroom theory. Volunteers are selected through a careful application process, emphasizing their enthusiasm, communication abilities, and experience working with children.

How It Works

The Engineer in Residence program is an engineering outreach program, reaching elementary and high school students nationwide. The engineer brings a real-life dimension to the curriculum, using hands-on projects, presentations and other curriculum relevant activities in the classroom.

Join 600+ educators & engineers across Canada that make up the Engineer-in-Residence community. The program is offered FREE of CHARGE to educators across Canada.

Guidelines

  • You’re matched with a local engineer for the duration of school year
  • Your engineer will visit your class as often as once a month
  • Visits can be done virtually or in person
  • You’re in control! Engineers will take your lead. They’re flexible and will come up with programming that supports the curriculum.

Deadline to register is May 31st, 2022.
