The Best of ChemEd is a chance for Ontario teachers to see what a ChemEd has to offer, especially when ChemEd 2023 will be at the University of Guelph! It is the largest conference in North America for educators involved in teaching high school and introductory chemistry. Read about the sessions and presenters on the University of Guelph’s ChemEd website. Registration is now opened – you can register for each day or just select the day that most interests you! This free three-day virtual event is hosted by American Association of Chemistry Teachers (AACT). ChemEd draws teachers from across North America and around the world. Our Best of ChemEd star lineup includes engaging and popular ChemEd presenters from Canada, US, Brazil, UK and Ireland.

 Highlights

Tuesday —  Microscale, Modelling, Making and using classroom resources, Kinesthetics, Student Research groups, Demonstrations and PhET simulations

Wednesday — George R Hague AP Symposium with the Chief Reader and Chief Reader Designate presenting the results of the 2021 AP Chemistry Exam

Thursday —  Smartphone spectroscopy, Flipped classroom, Chemistry games, Assessment, Beyond Bohr model, Implementing Claim, Evidence and Reasoning

Can’t get enough ChemEd?

Our social committee is hard at work planning events outside of session time to capture the engagement of a true ChemEd. Our planning committee is comprised of ChemEd 2023 and ChemEd 2025 members. Leading this virtual adventure is Jean Hein (ChemEd 2023 – Guelph), Linda Cummings (ChemEd 2025 – Colorado) and Adam Boyd (American Association of Chemistry Teachers).
