This video posted on YouTube introduces the Medical Physics undergraduate program at McMaster University. Medical Physics is the study of applications of physics to medicine, which can be divided into three areas: Medical Imaging, Radiation Cancer Therapy and Radiation Protection. Although great innovations have been accomplished to date, there are still a number of scientific and technical challenges in all three areas. The goal of the McMaster Medical Physics program is to develop leading Medical and Radiation Physicists to address these hard challenges. The video briefly explains how McMaster Medical Physics students learn the core subjects and build their knowledge. Particularly, interviews with our current and former students show how they learned cutting-edge research skills when they were working as co-op students at cancer centres, imaging laboratories, government laboratories and in the nuclear industry.
