This resource provides an overview for Hydrocarbons and Energy unit of the new Grade 11 Chemistry course, SCH 3U. It includes ideas for demonstrations, experiments, assignments and the use of the internet. Misconceptions, safety in the lab and safety issues specific to this unit are addressed. The resource includes teacher notes, suggestions for assessment and evaluation, a resource list, and student activity sheets ready to use in the classroom. All activities are referenced to the overall and specific expectations of the unit.
